EricNog.

Since eggnog season is not fully underway just yet, most places haven't begun selling it yet. So, I took the liberty of making my own Eggnog to taste, and compare to future nog that I may taste. I hoped that my eggnog could atleast compare to store bought eggnog, but then again it might be much better. I looked at many eggnog recipes on the internet, and did a little mixing and matching and ended up making my own recipe.

First, I took six eggland's best eggs, and beat them in a bowl. From all of the recipes I looked at, I understood that it was very crucial to beat the eggs as much as possible, so I must have beat them for almost a half hour. When my arm was beginning to feel like it was going to fall off, I felt like I had done enough beating. Next I added a cup of sugar, it seemed like too much sugar to me at first, but then I thought about it and theres no such thing. After another intense session of egg beating, I then added the cream, it wasnt exactly the recommended cream, but I felt like it would definetly add taste: french vanilla coffee-mate.

I used one cup of the cream, then I three and a half cups of milk. I added the cream and the milk in moderation, while beating. Finally, I added a half of a teaspoon of vanilla extract and a half of a teaspoon of ground nutmeg. I continued to beat the mixture for a while. I was not satisfied with the color of the nog so I added a little bit of yellow food coloring. I then refrigerated my nog for an hour.

At last, the moment I had been waiting for: I poured a glass of eggnog.

When I put my mouth to the glass, I was happily greeted with wonderful, sweet, flavorful eggnog. I had never tasted eggnog like this before. Homemade eggnog could be something revolutionary for me. My long hours of labor were definetly worthwhile. This partially makes me think my eggnog adventures can only go downhill from here, but I won't know unless I continue my journey.

A friend of mine who works at Oberweis has told me about how they just recently began selling eggnog and have eggnog ice cream as well. This seems like a good location to head to next on my journey, as it reminds me of wear my love for eggnog orginated. I will soon be paying her a visit, stay tuned.
